Anyone out there running Hed Ardennes FR wheels with SRAM Red?
Any problems with rear derailleur running too close to spokes when in 26 cog?
Mine seems really close. Wondering if for some reason I need a spacer behind the cassette to move it out?

Hmm...

I just ran into a similar problem with my Reynolds MV32 wheels. I couldn't even use my lowest gear before the derailleur cage started getting slapped by the spokes.

I fixed the problem simply by tightening the bolts that hold the cogs in place.

Another possibility is that there is damage to the derailleur causing an unnatural angling of the cage.

There's also a chance they are simply incompatible with each other. :noidea:

No compatability issue with the wheel and rear mech i run the same...

Your frame hanger may be bent ad or twisted
Your range limit screw may be out of adust for top end
You rr deraileur jockey cage may be bent
Your cassette may not have a spacer behind it (or a spacer which is too thin)
Your cassette tighness on to the freehub should not effect it as the cogs would be under loer compression and therefore not against the freehub body shoulder....

Politely suggest you have these all confirmed and feedback......

Regards

Yes. As a matter of fact, I am in the process of building up a new S-Works Tarmac SL4 using 2012 Sram Red. When I installed the 11x25 cassette on my new Ardennes SL tubular wheelset and inserted the rear wheel in the frame, I noticed that the clearance between the rear derailleur cage and the spokes is too close for comfort.

I haven't had a chance to finish the build this week, but before I do so I'm going to install a spacer behind the cassette to increase the clearance.
