Saw this used, and it looked like a pretty cool frame. Apparently they run about 6500 new for the frameset in the reviews I read. I've near heard of this brand, nor can I find a website for the manufacturer.

A few seconds on Google yields these links:

Do you like flax?
P.S. Note that your thread title "Meseeuw Mf-1?" is misspelled.

I've heard it's best to steer clear of these. There have been numerous reports of frame cracking and breaking. The frame have been reported to have the same stifness as a wet newspaper as well.
They do look nice, but the quality is sub standard.

Had one that wasn't build up very well (poor craftmanship) I did it al over for the owner and kept it for a few weeks to be sure all the creaks stayed away. The Museeuw isn't the stiffest bike around but is on par with most of the competitors. For the asking price it's too expensive but I liked the ride and since they never got very popular it might come cheap.
Loads of revieuw through google:

I just copied and pasted the seller description (hence the wrong spelling). I was aware of the "flax," but not of the flexibility. Stiffness is numero uno for me. Guess I will have to pass on this one. Thanks for the feedback.

Used to work at a shop that sold them and I've had one since I worked there. They had some problems with quality control when they were made in belgium but once they switched to a manufacturer in taiwan the quality improved quite a bit. As for stiffness I've only ridden the MC-2 (which I have) and the MC-6. The MC-2 is decently stiff, nothing to write home about. The MC-6 is a noodle. Weight-wise they're heavy. Really heavy. As in going from a Lapierre X-Lite (now called the Xelius or something) to to my MC-2 with an identical build the bike is 2 lbs heavier. It handles pretty well, but a touch on the slow side. Massively overpriced though and warranty/tech support in the US is non-existent. The shop I worked at is the US distributor for Museeuw and believe me when I say you don't want to bring these guys a warranty claim.
Long story short, they're overpriced, heavy, and slow handling. Potentially noodley depending on the frame. The paint chips easily, and mine may be developing a crack behind the brake cable entry port on the top tube.
If it tells you anything I'm switching over to a custom steel frame to replace this thing in a few months.

Is that ATA Cycle in Concord, MA?RollingGoat wrote:The shop I worked at is the US distributor for Museeuw and believe me when I say you don't want to bring these guys a warranty claim.
Per the link I provided above for the U.S. distributor http://www.veloconsports.com/museeuw-bikes , ATA Cycle is listed as a Museeuw dealer, and is 2.22 miles away in Concord, MA from the address listed for Velecon Sports. Do Velecon Sports and ATA Cycle have a common owner?

Yep, I worked there a while back. Hussam is the owner of ATA and Velocon. I think the address is for the warehouse, but he took care of both businesses from the office at ATA. He runs it with the sales rep for Time who's name is Gil (I definitely spelled that wrong. It might be Gilles). I was a mechanic there for a summer and since they're the distributor for Museeuw I got a really good deal on the frame.
Edit: I know I didn't provide last names, but I don't actually know anyone's last name.
