Anyone riding a 15lbs (or lighter) 2012 Caad 10?

The 2012 CAAD 10 will be my team's bike this year. It will be the "Caad 10-1" variant which is basically a Dura Ace/Ultegra mix with SL-K cranks. full specs here: http://www.cannondale.com/can/2012/bikes/road/elite-road/caad10/2012-caad10-1-dura-ace-19991

I haven't been able to find any info on the stock weight of the bike as built. I've been training really hard and keeping a strict diet and therefore would like to race this bike around the UCI limit of 14.99 lbs. I'm looking for any experiences from people who have shed some weight from this bike, what builds, etc have worked out. Fyi, I'll be racing with 2010 (non firecrest) tubular Zipp 404s. I also have access to a like new SRAM red drive train that i could transfer over from another bike.

Nice team bike!

I would say that you shouldn't have any trouble if you go full Red (cranks and all) as the FSA cranks suck and are a bit porky........

My 2011 CAAD10 is Ultegra (800g cranks included....I put shifting quality over weight in this case.), 1400g wheels and Ciamillo brakes and is around 16lbs (haven't weighed it since a few upgrades , will try to get a weight tonight).

The stock saddle, seatpost, bars and stem are a bit porky on those as well so a change to more lightweight options would be best. I went all 3T, but lighter options are available depending on your budget.

In other words, there are many ways you can easily get that bike down to 15.

Oh, check CAAD build thread in the introduction gallery for other options/examples as well. The search function will also bring up a lot of builds for CAAD10's around here!

The caad is a great frame to build up light. I'm riding a 52 and it's close to 14lbs. The more impressive build is my buddy who has a big frame (not sure exact but its at least a 60) and has sram red black, a hollowgram, some kcnc brakes, and some older 404 tubies and he's got his at about 14.5lbs

I have several guys riding them well under 15 pounds. The frames are about 1250 grams with hanger, clamp, and cage bolts.

Any compatibility issues with the BB?
Thanks.

Tour Magazin is testing a CAAD 10 in issue 4/2012
They weighed(sp?) the frame to 1177g (and the fork to 430g) in 56cm.
That is lighter then several of the carbon-frames tested in the same issue.

I have chorus on mine, but with a hollowgram so can't answer that.

I would think caad10 with dura ace and zipp 404 tubs very close to 6.8kg already. Maybe just swap the crank and cockpit.

50cm with Red shifters, '09 Force everywhere else, mostly alloy cockpit, 170mm compact SiSLs and C24 clinchers at 15.3lbs here. Wouldn't be hard to drop below 15 with tubulars.

Full Force and I am running at 16.97lbs. All the FSA stuff is going to be replaced by Enve parts including wheels. Not sure if I can hit the 6.8kg mark.

56cm at 15.3lb, no pedals (but with some crappy plastic bottle cage). super record, ee brakes, 101 wheels, sworks cranks (just to go against the grain, i have hollowgrams on my epic), etc. plenty of weight to lose, tubies for one...
i know quite a few guys riding them at or near the weight limit.

The FSA cranks are fine. IIRC, in the fairwheel crankset shootout, they came in lighter and stiffer then the DA7800 cranks. I have them, they work good. With Dura Ace, you won't get much better shifting even with DA chainrings, since the front mech works so well.

Don't change to SRAM just because, IMO, Dura ace is far better and more durable. With zipp tubular wheels you'll be very close to the mark in terms of weight. The only thing that really begs for replacement is the brakeset and the cassette, but I would presume that you would be running a dura ace cluster on your zipps anyway.
