Mine are 186g measured with titanium spindles but too much grease inside!!

Judging by the marks on my metal plates the sole of my cleat does come into contact with it

Pete, They were purchased spring of 2011. I was not aware there was an update to the blades..

Was there any other change to the latest model other than the removal of the "Look" logo on the bottom side? On the scale the 2011/2012 cro-mos weigh the exact same.

These pedals are great and very light but not an ultra WW option. By that I mean you can reduce weight but in doing so you will seriously effect the pedal's purpose.

Gum I'm surprised you don't go for tuned Speedplay pedals. At 130g they're WW light, and and they actually work.

I decided just to go with the Look's since that's what's on my Ruegamer. That way I can just wear the same shoes. I'm hoping I come across a set of m2raxer orb II's. Those is like to try.

I used to ride Speedplays, love the double sided entry but always had an issue with them ,axles not very smooth and cleats used to wear quite quick. The nano's are for race day only. I could not justify spending £600 on a pair of pedals , I bet they cost nowhere near that amount to make.

In you guy's opinion is it better to get Xpedo Ti pedals or Keo Blades? Especially bearing quality..

but how much do their multiple layer-brass cleat weigh? Does weight bolted to your shoes not weigh as much as weight bolted to your bike?

if you look at total system weight, Blade come in a hair under all but the race day only speedplays.

not to mention how sensitive speedplays are to getting fouled to hell by dirt/mud/gravel.

Don't get me wrong I've got a set of speedplays, but they stay on my Tri shoes/ Trainer bike setup.

I'll stick with my exustar 200 ti pedals. 178g for the pair and less than $200.

Most of the weight of the Keo Blade is in the axle and bearings, not the composite body. You could hack apart the whole carbon body and only save a couple meaningless grams... and drastically weaken the pedal.

A good place to save weight with the Keo pedals is actually in the cleats, particularly the bolts and hardware. I swapped the bolts out for shorter Ti bolts and also Ti hardware, cut the weight in 1/2. Personally, I think the hardware, those little "[ == ]" shaped metal pieces could be re-designed to be smaller and lighter. Their large size even limits some movement of the cleat on the shoe.
