Seems pretty accurate overall. THe BB30 cranks should be lighter, which seem quite nice.

I am still struggling with the patches of red and the price, otherwise I'd be getting a set.

The cassette is a nice weight, but I liked the old cassette as cleaning was easy. That was one of the reasons for switching back from Recon ,KCNC etc.

I was very disappointed with my 2012 FD weight. No extra hardware or clamp bolt, came in at 72g (braze on). With the chain catcher and bolts, about 83g. Everything total, including my MCFK carbon clamp in 34.9 came in at 92. I opted to leave the chain catcher off of mine, and with my MCFK clamp and MCFK bolt (which is 2g lighter than SRAMs) came in at 82g. They claim 53g.. so they are way off on this one.

The claimed weight of FD is 74g without chain spotter, mine was 74g and 82g with chain spotter.

R2-Bike have invidual component weights on their blog, http://thebikeblog.de/2012/03/09/sram-red-2012/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ah - thanks. I was going on the 53g claimed number from the product description on Competitivecyclist.com, which always seem to be accurate on such things.

Regardless, I feel like 73g is pretty heavy for a braze on. My 7800 D/A 34.9 clamp on weighs 83g... and that is with the large metal clamp! So I was thinking that 53g should be about right for a brand new technology braze-on.

Kinda bummed on the crank weight, my 2011 Red crank w/BB and TA outer ring is only 611, would not lose much weight getting the new one, just gain some stiffness. At this point only the cassette is an upgrade for me.

In the spirit of not answering the question you asked (!), I have 50/34 in 175mm and they were 523g without bearings. With extralite chainrings came in at 465g :-)
