Any alternatives to FSA (which are a ridiculous £5 each)?

ask your LBS to look into their tool box. i've gotten two for free at two different locations just for asking.

if you do end up having to buy them, looks like you can get ten of them for about 5pounds, guesstimating the exchange rate right now.
im pretty sure the cane creek ones come in this 0.50mm and also in a 0.25mm variety.

Well, presuming the price is the same in Wales as in the U.S., then that would be about 7,77 GBP for a bag of 10, which though cheaper than 5 GBP each, is 55% higher than thisisatest's crude estimate.
