Hi all,

was chatting to a chap at my training camp today who was running a new crank based power meter made in Australia, Perth as per above.

I think the company was called break away designs or something similar. Apparently GreenEdge have taken delivery of the first 50 units and got rid of their SRMs. Anyone know any more?

Cheers Stuart

Company is called breakaway innovations pty ltd.
Based in osbourne park Perth WA.
They are linked to / Entecho pty ltd, who are an engineering r&d co living mostly in the aerospace world.
There appears to be littl win the way of tech info or white paper on their product currently on the net (2 minute search), but it appears from liscensing info that it is a crank based syetm, as opposed pedal spindle or shoe...
I flicked off a mail to Tom at breakaway enquiring as to product, we'll see if anything is forthcoming in reply.
If anyone can access pics from green edge get em up pls....

So anyone know how much they retail for yet? Or are they all very hush hush?

I was a tester. It's a crank arm based power meter using strain gauges, with left/right power. ANT+ and so on.
That was over 2 years ago now, so it's good to see their making it to market.

Similar to the Rotor powermeter that they have shown then.

Just reading the latest from SRM.de, it looks as if SRM isn't out of the picture with GreenEdge just yet.
