Come on.... it is not that I can not afford it... it just does not make sense...
And I don't like the feeling of getting ripped....

I guess all of you agree e95,- (app USD140,-) is way overprices for a single carbon leaver... that's my point.

P.S. Just did a quick ride with my new lever.... ;-)
Feels great t have a brand new lever.... ;-) duhhhh

I agree on getting ripped off but when you buy expensive stuff expect to pay up when maintenance comes around.
Individual pieces relatively cost more then the sum of their parts. This goes for anything.
Just be glad you did not have to have it serviced.

Campagnolo EC-RE329 Do a google

Here are some european sources that quickly came up:
http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Campag ... -Lever/RFK

http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping ... tegory=162
You can use a chorus for half the price if you don't care that the carbon insert isn't there.

Then Youtube has the instruction for working on the internals of the levers - they show a right lever but the left is fairly similar.

Thanks a lot !
I could miss the "carbon" insert for 30 euro discount :)
Thanks again. I think I will go for Chorus if it's 100% compatible

How did you break that inner leaver?
Pulled to hard?

Anyway, you could buy the Chorus and try to insert the little carbon plate...

Dont go for a full SR bike wiht one leaver Chorus look... wont do anything to the weight, but stay to the looks! ;-)

Good luck!

your lucky that the lever is only 95 euro over there. Over here it is 200$ retail + tax.

Small carbon parts are not cheap and easy to make. campy has to add in all the logistics of packaging, distribution costs etc... Plus super record are not made in taiwan or china like you might think.

It is either made and assembled in Romania or Italy. While Romania work labor is cheaper than Italy, it is still much more expensive than Taiwan , China.

If you want the best, most expensive, you gotta pay to play. I know it sucks, but its like that.

Its like someone buying an exotic car , but then complains that a brake job costs 25 000$ lol. If you have money to buy it, then maintenance should not be a problem...

I have ordered the Chorus piece ( 26 euro ) which is ok. The record one was 55 euro from the same seller.
I will try to insert the little carbon sticker(or piece) on the Chorus lever.
Altough I'm from Romania, we do not have an official Campagnolo dealer in our country. Campy is just to expensive for romanians.
I will have to live with the Chorus lever until I switch to SR11(for the time being I have record-10 2008 )

mrowkoob wrote:Ofcourse you can replace it, every campagnolo part can be bought as a spare part. I have replaced several levers after crashes. Shimano on the other hand cant be fixed/have available spare sparts and after crashes I have had to buy a complete new sti.

If it´s just the clear coat. Sand it down and then relaquer it with clear coat, good as new.

Campy no longer sells all parts as individual spares. There are only four parts groups sold for the shift lever. You can buy the brake lever and pins as a group, the band clamp, the brake hood and a major assembly that includes all parts not in the other three groups.
See page 54 of the PDF.

I snapped a record10 lever exactly this way, and in the exact same spot.
It usually happens trying to up shift from the big ring (...)

Anyhow, a quick fix.

Good luck
