Does anyone know what is typical brake and shifter cable weight all together on a road bike
e.g.
exposed on downtube for shift cabes.
exposed over top tube for rear brake cable.

If you are just using regular bike shop stuff or jagwire.

I just exchanged cables on my bike. Standard steel cables with standard housing. Rear brake housing is one piece from shifter to brake. Shift housing end at head tube at cable stops and there is small piece of housing at rear deraileur.
Complete set of cables and housing was just few gramms below 200g.

edit: frame is 56cm standard geometry c-c.

Have a look in the listings. There are various weights there.

OK, I added a set of DA brake and shift cables and net gain was about 160g. I was expecting 200g.

Depends on length of cables and housing. Complete uncut set is around 200g, the Jagwire steel cables on my 56cm frame are 140g cut to length. Same setup you describe, exposed shifter cables on downtube and exposed rear brake cable on top tube, with shift cables routed under bar tape.
