Hi everybody,

For my latest project (Renovo R1) I am using a U.S.E. thermoplastic seatpost shim. It works like a charm, but it looks like crap. Like the one in the picture below, the top bit sticks out of the frame.

Would it be an issue if I would cut down the top bit of the shim, other than the risk of losing the shim in the seat tube or a tricky installation?

Can't see it being a problem. It'll just make it trickier to fit.

BTW I've got one and I think it looks ok :wink:

I think it's a bad idea. Seems more likely to creek. More contact area seems better for something like that. Just my opinion

Edit...sorry I did not read it carefully. The top probably would not matter but I still would not cut it.

could you paint the top lip an accent color that would add instead of detract?

i would cut all but the last 1mm of the top lip. then it's just as useful.
