Andreas, so what age do 'current' Standard C's stretch to?

Like if you bought them from LBS January 2012 you would have wheels made in 2011 for sure, but if you bought them March, maybe you got wheels that were stored in the shop or your production store for 2 months and so they are from 2011. Or maybe they were made to order and indeed 'current'?

I realise gradual improvements took original Standard C's to where they are now, but how do we identify one Standard C from another? Chip Number ranges perhaps?

As we always produce "on order", it only depends on shipping and dealers stock how old or new the wheels are that you can see in a shop.

To have a detailed differentiation we have to look in our database, where we can see all specific details on a wheel. This only works via the chipnumber (which is not consecutive!).
For a global differentiation between "old" Standard C" (produced up to ~Dec. 2011) and current Standard C / Meilenstein C please have a look on the pictures...

Thank You Andreas for all your posts in this thread. It has been very reassuring having such a responsive (& suprisingly public) contact throughout my queries both pre, mid and post sales.

trisilver57, hope you get sorted out soon, seems the US to Europe link is the problem here because as you can see CS themselves are very supportive. During the timeline of this thread, I have also returned and had re-posted back one of the wheels for inspection (there was nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to be sure about a query). This process took about a week, from original collection (which CS arranged) back to delivery to my door.

Can you post a picture of Mailenstein's big logo on the new wheels? I would like to see the new graphic closer because I can't decide between the new graphic stile and the old one.

Is there a price listed posted anywhere for the new Carbonsports wheel models?

Also, are there any plans in the works to make the rim width any wider than 19.5mm, as it seems to be the new thing to do nowadays?

Semi-correct...
You forgot to compare the matching spokes counts and/or mixed up the types tubular and clincher:
Tubular:
Standard III 16/20: 100kg <=> Meilenstein 16/20: 100kg
Standard III 20/20: 120kg <=> Meilenstein 20/20: 120kg
Rim: 53mm <=> 53mm

Clincher:
Standard III C 16/20: 120kg <=> Meilenstein C 16/20: 120kg
Standard III C 20/20: 120kg <=> Meilenstein C 20/20: 120kg
Rim: 47,5mm <=> 47,5mm

=> no decreasing weight limit! (Which would be nonsense...the wheels are technically identical! Only the clincher models got a technical update, starting with production end of November 2011. Shape was not modified!)

They also lowered the overall rim height top 47.5mm (down from 53mm).

Ahh..now I see the problem. I did not recognize you refer to the news that was posted e.g. at bikerumor.com... sorry for that!

So when are the MY2013 wheels available? Or are they already shipping now?
What should we specify with our dealer when ordering if we want to ensure we get the MY2013?

Production will start shortly after Eurobike 2012. When ordering, just be sure to order "Gen. IV" or MY2013...

Is there going to be a Gen. IV GIPFELSTURM? If so, what will be the differences from the Gen. III GIPFELSTURM?

Is there a MY2013 Meilenstein (C) on the way too, or is the current Meilenstein (C) ( which is <=> December 2011 onwards Standard III C's ) the latest gen clincher for the forseeable future?

I ask because Bikerumor says MY2013's will support 11s, but no news (that I have seen) about current wheels supporting (or accepting new freehub bodies to accept) CS 9000 cassettes.

Can You confirm that?
Will be used the same brake track available as optional/upgrade this year or another technical solution?
