But seriously folks: is that handlebar real? If so - I want to score one for a commuter build. I'm hardly ever in the drops on my commuter.

Yes, Xentis made something like that a few years ago.
They don't make it anymore, but you can just chop your handlebars.

No way is that saddle 5cm behind the BB. It would never be allowed in a UCI TT.

When I 1st saw that pic I thought it was kinda cool but that video -
A 'normal' fatbike is a much better tool. With 100mm rims they are better for powder snow and dunes. Studded 29er tyres on 40mm+ rims would be heaps better for hard-pack snow too.

That's a Moulton, isn't it, albeit without the usual front suspension. I seem to recall a year or two back there was a photo doing the rounds of a Moulton with a massive chainwheel on top the Galibier, is that this bike?

Dr Alex Moulton died the other day aged 92. Wouldn't normally use a Daily Mail link but it has a good photo:

It is a Moulton-like bike, as it was not built by Moulton, but by One Off Titanium sometime in the mid-90s. It does not fold, it has no suspension. OTOH, it has a Hopey steering damper, king rear hub, no-name ti shell front BMX hub (used to have campy record 8speed hubs), etc. It also used to have drop bars, but the owner says he's getting older (aren't we all) and can't reach down far enough anymore.
The big ring is an 82t.
I'm certain this bike has not been to Europe.

I guess this one belongs in this topic as well..

Absolutely not a freak! Every single item/feature on that bike makes sense. Anyone who thinks it's a freak probably never uses their bicycle for anything but racing or training for racing. Very utilitarian and good looking, I like.

I pretty much guarantee that the owner of this bike would rack up more mileage in a single ride than most people here seem to in a whole year.

Yup, we've already discussed that part.
If you read closely you will find that it was only a guess.

It does have a stem erection tough..
