Curious to know how they got the tape to cover all the bar? When I figure 8 wrap the shifters I struggle getting the tape close enough to the stem.

Those are some really funky shifters.

I'm digging around, but I think that BMC was customized for a double-hand amputee. I remember seeing something in a wounded warriors post or perhaps ride2recovery.

The last one isn't exactly freaky, more a case of an owner adding (practical) stuff to a bike for a vacation. The Thule rack is removed in seconds, same for the Airhorn (and I certainly thought about such a device on my commuter/trekkingbikes). Tires are sensible for a roadtrip, can be swapped in seconds (other wheels) or minuter (just the Tyres). I detest the colors, but that's me

I do admit that it's quite an expensive bike as posted with questionable aesthetics, but I immediately understand the idea behind it and considering the choices it seems chosen to be easily changed.
