Aren't you keeping your Guru? I doubt Felt will sell directly to a customer straight from the factory. You will have to go through an authorized Felt dealer, who will then have to put an order in with their distributor/Felt.

Anyone been keeping up with the new 2011 Felt F3 fork recall? There is a thread on RBR about it. I know Felt has had some issues in the past regarding their forks; Felt F1x, S32, B16, B12, now F3. There was even issues with one of the Bayonet forks several years back. I'm sure Felt will take care of this, but isn't it a bit strange they keep having to issue recalls on their forks?

Quote:
2011 F3 Fork Recall

As part of our ongoing commitment to customer safety and satisfaction Felt has issued a voluntary recall of its 2011 F3 road bicycles equipped with forks manufactured in China by ADK Technology Limited. Felt has decided to recall these forks voluntarily because it has discovered a potential issue with these ADK forks, which may cause the fork to crack or break. Fortunately, the issue has not resulted in serious personal injury. Nevertheless, Felt has commenced a voluntary recall of these bicycles to maximize the safety of its customers. Felt requests your assistance in this recall effort. Specifically, we request that you take the following very important steps immediately:

1. Stop use of your 2011 F3 bicycle immediately.

2. Contact your local Felt Authorized Dealer to receive a free inspection and repair.

Felt regrets any inconvenience this recall may cause. We appreciate your understanding, and we are working to get you back and on your bicycle with as little delay as possible.

For additional information including list of Felt Authorized Dealers, call Felt Bicycles toll-free at

(866) 433-5887 ext. 3, by e-mail at info@feltbicycles.com, or visit our web site at http://www.feltracing.com.

Talked to my "source" today. Looks like you are correct. It has been a couple of weeks since I have spoke with anyone. No reason since the damn thing was supposed to be here around the middle of Nov. Looks like a Felt may not be in my future. :noidea:

Maieule, what are the overall impressions of the frame? Positive? I see it gets fairly high marks score wise, just curious what the review says?

53x12, english is not my native language.
So please be patient, I ´ll try to give you a summary in a few hours.

"Lost in translation"

It is a spectacular "working equipement". In comparison to the predecessor felt took a big step forward. The F1 is one of the top light bikes in the market. The complete bike weight is 5650 gramms, the frame set (frame, fork and headset) impressive 1196 gramms.
The 1196 gramms are impressive because the headset stiffness (78Nm/°) is as well as the bottom bracket stiffness (108 N/mm) and it will suit any driver weight (also very strong sprinters).
The frame performance (characteristics) is/are better than some much heavier frames.

The on road test did not detect any weaknesses.
The steering is "prompt" and willing without being nervous.
A high running smoothness and a high directional stability at highspeed and "when you climbing out of the saddle". The sitting position is elongated (craned) but not unconvenient. The geometrie invites the driver to accelerate. The wheelset is not stiff enough. (reason why the F1 did not get the best mark)
Ride comfort is moderate (measured and on road test) but does not affect the driving pleasure.

Conclusion:
An amazing complete package makes the F1 a race capable allrounder - and wins the test. (Compared with Look 695 and AX_Lightness Alpha) Because of por wheelset stiffness it did not get the best possible mark.

Thanks Maieule, I thought you spoke Germany since you live in Munich. Ooops. :D

Thanks for the translation. I tried coping the text off the pdf so that I could put it in google translate but just wasn't able to highlight and copy it. Was too lazy at work to do it and was planning on doing it this evening when I got home. So thanks again.

Note: did they really compare the F1 to the AX Lightness Alpha and still rank the Felt higher? Or am I missing something?

No, you did not missed something.
They compared the Look 695, Felt F1 and AX-Lightness Alpha (4720 gramms).
Look and AX share the second place.
They criticized the weak headset stiffness of the AX (55Nm/° should be 70) and the stiffness of the wheelset (Front 57 Nm/° Rear 49 Nm/° - both should be 70)
The Look and Felt finished the on road test in front of the AX.

In january I `ll get a measuring because i am not sure if the felt F1 geometrie will fit me. (frame size 58 versus 61 and the short head tube) (189 cm, inside leg 88 cm)

If it fits, the F1 will be my first "light" bike.

The frame will be available in february 2011. (may be)

I was fortunate enough to test ride the 2011 F2 the other day and I was absolutely blown away. I have no doubt the F1 is going to be the bike of year for 2011.
Before I headed back to school I was the head mechanic at a shoppe for a couple years and had the ability to ride many bikes from Scott, Stork, Jamis, Raleigh, Cervelo, etc. none of these bikes compare to the F2. I owned and raced an addict for a year and wouldn't even think twice about choosing a new felt F-series frame set over an Addict Frame set.
I have also heard that Felt is going to offer custom colors for there 2011 F1 frame sets. Has anyone else heard this?

abuck55ru, I appreciate your comments but it would mean more to me if you had built up some credibility. Not saying your experience isn't true, just that coming on here and just signing up and making big claims just doesn't go a long way on a community like this. But I hope you are right about the new F lineup and that you stay around and become a bigger part of the community.
