Not sure if this is OT but this might have weighed on Rabo's choice to leave the sport

Knowing a fair bit about both, no, they definitely had zero connection to each other.

Shocked at this guys' name. Hey... It is PRO cycling related though.

To be filed under 'was only a matter of time' :-(

Chicken taught Ryder how to use EPO

Yeah I read that article this AM. I have always hoped Ryder was clean but was never sure. Especially since he hadn't really ever done anything until 2009/2010, plus his history of riding on USPS/Discovery and Phonak.

Technically he'd be protected by this from 8 yr statute of limitations.

Edit- to be fair, I still give him the 'post-2007 slipstream we clean' benefit of the doubt

also giving ryder the benefit of the doubt post slipstream. like to think garmin as a whole is clean. lots of ex-dopers on that team that seem to be clean and on the straight and narrow now. wonder if vaughters knew of ryder's alleged doping beforehand but just didn't say anything?

He's already confessed and really it's not the most shocking revelation ever.

McGrath went >50 at worlds in 1997 so i don't know how Chicken "introduced" him to it....
Sheppard was popped for using EPO in 2005
Ryder rode for Postal & Phonak in the dark ages so ya...

It is quite refreshing that he admitted it immediately

I was slightly dubious of his 2012 Giro performance, considering his performances prior to that win, and in particular his performances after. He could have gambled with micro-dosing to get that one big career win.

He admitted it immediately . . . after being outed.

+1. Should be banned regardless of when it took place ala LA.

So Garmin is just a less fashion forward and less tacky version of Rock Racing

Except most of the riders - bar Millar - weren't banned at some point before they joined the team.
