Looks like he got that extra boost late in the sprint. Same as when he finished second after stybar earlier. Well I'm hoping for on more to the Belgian, and of course a new white jersey later this month.

I have no idea what the sizing is like on the new FOCUS TT frames but it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't fit a stock size all that well being such a small guy...

Anyone got an idea of his time checks? His climb must have been super fast!

totally not-related-to-whats-happening-at-the-Vuelta:

I just learned that Astana is pronounced "Ahsta'nah" or Àstàná. After all these years of hearing the English language commentators pronounce it incorrectly...
Did anyone else know this before? It's new to me!
Do other language commentators pronounce it differently?

And how do English language commentators pronounce it?
Russian ones do it right.

In Europe we pronounce it like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PjoGyxIHEo . Some commentators like the awful Carlton Kirby, to whom Prend is referring I think, make some botched attempt at a Kazakh pronunciation.

Meanwhile you know Gilbert won a stage this year right? curse of the rainbow jersey and all.

I like this thread. I imagine it like one big, massive sports bar (pub) that only shows races on the screens and we're just casually chatting it up about whatever race/pro related that is on our minds at the moment. Occassional good, meaty debates make it lively too. It's fun and it seems like it's going on forever.

Here, have a Lefe on me: :beerchug:

Looking through the BMC Vuelta gallery, anyone know what tire this is? Doesn't Vittoria make a similar tire?Image
