Luckily in the road cycling world thigh size does not matter.
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

Maybe for GC/climbers. But wouldn't say that is the case for sprinters.

They are grouped by thigh size.

a skinny dude persistently looking down even on an easy "ride", do you still think he's riding "driven" by watt numbers?

How low they hold their heads in a sprint is a perfect predictor of general ranking on those riders (I'll call Kittell & Cavendish a tie).

Interestingly, rode with Hushovd during the 2010 World Champs lead up and he looked about the same on TV (read: not far off the size of a regular human being).
Also saw a lot of Fabian, he was a good size too. And with massive quads. Also a good size for a 'regular human'.
The rest were exceedingly thin. Especially Freire (amazed how short he really was).

I found Petacchi quite small when I met him. Lance was shorter than thought too. Typical of people on TV really. It adds ten pounds, as the saying goes.
Ulle looked smaller too. It was end of season so he was fit.
Exceedingly thin does define most!
