Galibier out of stage 15. due to snow and possible avalanches, both Col du G and Monti Cenis, which make for most of the stage, won't be prepared to host the peloton. so apparently they'll have to race around a parking lot or smth. just great, thank you winter, for being so f**** generous this year :?

Giro is kind of boring so far this year.

well it was supposed to be won by Nibali...not a big news that Giro and Vuelta try to favour national athletes; all this unless someone else got sick in the next days (Nibali all in short when everyone else was freezing, yeah....).

Favour? It's more like there is less budget, so it's more national and wildcards are given to locals, like in the tour, but apart from that i dont favour is the right word.

e.g. when Moser (Francesco) was the boss, Giro routes were "designed" to try to suit him and his strenghts.
Nothing new under the sun (which is lacking here in Italy :) )

It's difficult not to favour somebody when he is the best of the race

no flat TT, even compared to previous years, was to favour Nibali and not someone else... also an easy pick as he's the only Italian who can actually perform in a 3 weeks tour.
What IF...there has been a flat TT and someoene who was not Nibali was actually in pink? AND now this weather situation? Well I guess organizers, in this hypothetical scenario, will try to do EVERYTHING possible to make Nibali get the pink.
BUT there was no flat TT, as opposed to the usual, and the real "contender" to The Shark got a cold and come back home, so this scenario was avoided...

This behaviour is really nothing new, it was mentioned, e.g., in Fignon's book too (if i remember correctly).

What about Van Garderen? My bet would be Froome to IAM if anywhere?

Froome isnt going anywhere at least until end of 2014.

As for TJ, an american up and coming GC contender riding for an american based team; why would he need to change?
Everybody seems happy about him, well, beside Cadel.

I think you are right, not having a pure flat tt is actually favouring.

any more shot of Andy's Domane? Looks like he has ditched the 56 with the slammed -17 140 for something that is shorter and aggressive, but with a considerably higher front end.

Looks like the Giro tomorrow will finish half way up the Galibier at the Pantani monument. I think it's good that they want to celebrate the fantastic history of doping in cycling like that.

I'd rather riders dope as much as he did and actually find the race interesting than watch this Giro again. Really puts the last three awesome years to shame.
