More like Sky beat Cannodale in the mountains. BW morphing into VN, maybe not, but maybe a descending tutorial.

Giro looks wide open to me. Great first week.

BTW that Impec seems to dislike going uphill in the heat.

Still very open indeed. But I think hesjedal is far and will be even further. I can't imagine Evans improving in the GC due to mountain stages, not very likely. It will be all about wiggo and nibali, I think... Wiggo has a strong team indeed, but he still has to climb the mountains himself... He may recover for the next two weeks, but Nibali seems stronger there to me, and even if he looses time, he can recover it in the downhill. Wiggo can be happy not to loose time downhill. Indeed very open Giro.

He already has, at least the descending part, just gotta add the climbing now ;-)

I'd say Nibali is a dead cert. The only way Wiggo could win now is if Nabali gets ill, crashes or has a really, really bad day.

I hope I'm wrong. If Wiggo did win it would be an amazing performance. To get 1 min. 16 sec. back from Nibali in the mountains would be quite something.

Cadel is on the best form he has been in since 2008. I think he'll be runner up with Wiggo just making the podium.

I would be reluctant to call anyone a dead cert with still two weeks to go...

Poor Betancur, he thought to be a winner of today´s stage. It must be a terrible moment of finding out there was one more guy up in the front. :D

It was funny! Apparently his radio wasn't working.

I think it's good that Wiggo isn't leading the Giro at the moment. It'll be interesting to see how Nibali and Astana fare controlling the race.

I can see Sky sending Henoa or Uran up the road forcing the other GC contenders to chase.

anyone remember when Basso won the Giro? Some pretty crazy shit happened that changed the GC game every 4-5 days. I wouldn't count anyone out yet at all. For all we know Wiggins could have some crazy stuff up his sleeve for the mountains. Or Evans. Too hard to call.

And all those things are unheard of in a 3 week grand tour :P

Don't get me wrong, Nibali has to be the strong favourite now but there is plenty of time for more upsets. After all, who before the race would've called Wiggins crashing in the pissing rain (in the south of Italy!) and puncturing in the TT all in the first week?

Anybody could win this giro if they pull out of their sleeve, what Basso pulled out of his sleeve when he won the Giro. Hehehehehehe...

Wow, those guys definitely looked like they didn't leave anything on the table for the ToC finish today.

Tramway Road is a pretty nasty climb, especially in the heat. I've done it in similar conditions (110 at the base) and wouldn't want to do it a second time! After 120 miles, forget it :P
