So we'll be seeing 25s used for track racing, if riders prefer it?roselend wrote:Yes, same pressure.
Only necessary on bad roads? Rider preference, I guess.
So not smooth?roselend wrote:Tradition. http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/05/ ... ire_218011" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
No, I race on roads that are in pretty good condition actually.
roselend wrote:Real world racing conditions to me is: wet and slippery roads when it rains, sketchy corners at high speed, the occasional bad patch of road on high speed descents, skidding tires in the peleton, unplanned manoeuvres etc.
The 25 man group were 17 seconds(I think) behind when Sagen let go, and 1:39 at the finish.KWalker wrote:Fabian's attack was also very well timed. He didn't do much work, attacked and got the gap, utilized those he bridged up to for a minute or so and then later let Sagan take a hard pull through and attacked him right after he pulled. He made Sagan work against himself by having him pull where he did- there was no way Sagan was going to be able to do that AND hold pace up the climb. The gap grew, but then halted so it wasn't like he won by minutes.

According to cycling power lab, and assuming zero wind and zero gradient it would take Fabian 480Watts to ride at 50km/h. And that's assuming a TT drag coeficient![]()
I guess 480W could be his LT power. The effort is made to look even more amazing considering it was done after 250km!![]()

I'd like to think he is the first but who knows
Don't be so quick to assume doping. It could be Gruber Assist.aerozy wrote:I guess 480W could be his <Fabian's> LT power. The effort is made to look even more amazing considering it was done after 250km!![]()

Exactamente!!SalsaLover wrote:These days they don't x-ray check the bikes anymore.
According to Engery Lab, his average power output on the last 13K, done in 15'45", was with almost absolute certainty above 500 Watt. Seems reasonable to me, taking into account he was facing considerable headwind most of the time
