Handfull of top 10 placings for somewhat of a climber is a succesfull season, but for a sprinter that is a miserable fail...

I think Farrar is highly overrated, but that's just my opinion :P
He must know something that Vaughters doesn't want made public

Speaking of sprinters better than Farrar, Bryan Coquard, inrng did a piece on him this week, man does the boy make it look easy...reminds me of when Sagan broke on to the scene...

You can't blame Farrar for the numerous crashes he had or his sadness over the lost of W.Weylandt !

he's probably going to win some races this year and do well in the classics.

You can say the same for Goss, many second places and few wins in 2012, anyway in a regular sprint who can beat both Cavendish and Greipel when they have of a good train ?

From Cyclingtips:

"Everyone in the pro peloton bashes one particular groupset though. It’s all in good fun, but it’s an unwritten rule that you have to take the piss out of the guys who are on that groupset.

The electronic groupsets is where it’s at nowdays. Di2 has been brilliant. – absolutely flawless. From what I understand the 11spd Dura Ace is even better. It’s now just like Campag where you hold the button in and it just goes up or down the cassette. The riders say great things about it."

This is from the Secret Pro section. With the above two sentences, are we able to infer that he is speaking of SRAM in the first sentence?

I happen to think so. Lots of pros have experience with it after SRAM flooded the peloton for some seasons, and now the 3 poor Proteams that still use it get the jokes.
Not sure it's that bad, but it's not electronic.

I have raced on it for the past three years now, back on it again. Ease of working on it and changing it are some of the reasons, and cost.

asv wrote:6 GT wins that's a lot of bad days and more GT wins than Kittel and Dkolb. I think your being way overly harsh on the guy. He might not be in the top5 anymore but he is certainly worthy of being on a protour team.

Degenkolb has been in the Pro Tour for 2 years and this is his record:

2011
2 stages in the Dauphine
2 stages in Volta ao Algarve
and a handful of 1st places in smaller races

2012
1st overall UCI Europe Tour
5 GT stage wins
4th at Worlds
4th at MSR
6th at E3

That's better than any season Farrar has ever had. He can clearly get over the mountains, go the distance in long races, and sprint from a variety of situations. Lets not forget his 2nd at U-23 Road worlds and the fact that he is younger than Farrar and has already amassed a more impressive results sheet with a team that has a lot less firepower/cash.

To people hating on my opinion- there were quite a few people that agree about Farrar on the previous page.

In quite a few crashes Farrar is clearly at fault. People lose relatives and friends all the time, but it doesn't always influence their performance both before and after the death to such a degree.

I think Goss is simply better because he is actually capable of winning a monument and getting over the mountains. Unless the stage is flat and short Farrar doesn't do well with that.
