Why do the press insist on saying Wiggins was knocked off his bike?
Maybe it is just me but this implies it wasn't very serious. They never say a pedestrian was knocked off his feet.

They say he was hit by a car.

"A big cuddly ball of cotton wool knocked me if my bike and I landed on a lovely soft mushroom. Happy days!"

"A 2 ton metal car hit me and I fell onto the hard tarmac, luckily I only fracturing my ribs."

No wonder people drive too close they don't perceive the danger they put us in.

The BBC earlier reported that Wiggins bike was in collision with a car and that he was slightly hurt.

I hate it when my bike goes off and collides with cars.

I heard on the national news that it happened outside a petrol station. I don't know for definite, but my guess is that the driver was pulling out as Wiggo was going past and either didn't see him or didn't realise how quickly he would be travelling. That's typical of most drivers who don't cycle. The number of times I've eased back expecting someone to pull out in front of me and they do!

....and for the record, I would say there's as many bad car drivers in the UK as there are van drivers. :(

Proving to the waiting press that it was only his ribs that were broken and not his fingers, as previously reported..........

JV vs JB, I'd be glad for them both to be out of the sport.
