Yep, not surprising. I really have tried to like Di Luca, given that I'm also an Abruzzese, but he's not done himself any favours.

Doraz, Where in the Abruzzo are you from? I ride there every summer :beerchug:

Btw. Gesink is out as well.

Sure, but the tests in place seem do not appear to be entirely useless.

Never liked him and never rated him.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Why did it have to be another Italian...

Looks like di Luca and Rico are trying to out do each other in the biggest idiot stakes (Rico still leads on the fact he nearly died from infusing stale blood)

Trychle - I'm first generation Australian, but I have a lot family in Chieti and a tiny town called Monternodomo.

Where exacty do you ride?

I do miss the old days of "the killer", particularly the mid to late 2000s. The '07 Giro was mint (Di Luca vs. Schleck vs. Cunego vs. Simoni vs. Mazzoleni), and I loved the way he rode the classics. In hindsight he was loaded with EPO, but it made for some great racing.

Terrible news! Matthieu Sprick has had a stroke with some symptoms of paralysis. :unbelievable: He's a friend of a good mate of mine and is seemingly a really nice guy!

Wish him a quick but more importantly full recovery!

We arrived to apoint where, I don't think Di Luca is a criminal or killed anybody. Di Luca failing a test is like been busted with a bike lighter than 6.8Kg. Busted, so now out of the game. As long as the rules are applied equally, which of course is not the case, as expensive riders are not tested so often or so carefully as cheap riders, but apart from that, I don't care at all if this or that second rate rider doped.
Happy Trails !!!

Sorry if this has been covered, haven't been paying much attention lately. I figured with the Giro turning into a rain and snow fiasco that the pro thread was as good of a place as any to post this:

Numerous dopers (and other pros) commenting on Di Luca. A little rich for me (not that he doesn't deserve it)

The comment from Mr. Armstrong was a bit funny.

Hey, speaking of which, Ricco is on the Twitter... he's been quiet since the 22nd, when he posted this little beauty:
