he was a part of the Omega train when it was apparent Cav's gonna get through the climbs in the main bunch. today, and during other stages, Kwiatkowski stayed close to the front, finishing 4th for the second time. Lefevere didn't sign and send him to tour just to assist Cav. that's not his job. Kwiatkowski is way to good (and even more promising) to limit his chances of achieving his own goals

^ True, but he's been on the front a lot this past week working for his highness, and you have to assume he will be again come the other flat stages. It will be interesting to see if that will take a toll.

Cancellara will try to break the hour record after the world championship if his form is OK, if not then after Paris-Roubaix.

Refreshing to say the least. On the other hand cyclingnews reports Andy is very upset and unlikely to stay with Trek cause his bro is being 'mistreated'. Though i have to say if RSLT really wants to fire him they should have done so long long ago. If what Andy said is true then they are being cruel supporting Frank, let him train in the camp, just to fire him later. Or perhaps this was their intention to force Andy out all along. .

I'd love to hear the real story behind Frank's positive, but I doubt we ever will...

Flavio Becca fired Frank Schleck because he doesn't want to pay him.

I think the latter is true - it's very important that leopard trek keep andy happy to get the most out of him. strange that they would bring this all to the surface now though :\ couldn't have squeezed another 2 weeks out of andy? or maybe they assumed he would go too and he might be forced to ride well at the tour for a contract elsewhere...

Why is Lampre even in the tour? If they didnt wear pink i wouldnt have even noticed them at all. No-one for GC, no sprinters and havent even been in a break AFAIK. Why bother?

No doubt you will see Cunego in a breakaway once he has lost time.

But if you haven't noticed Cimolai was 4th yesterday, he is a guy who will but there on days like yesterday. Can get over the hills and sprint.

Everyone ready to be bored out of their mind watching the Sky train today? Cause that's what's going to happen.

Hopefully tomorrow's up and down route prompts some of the Spaniards to attack from far out.

@euan, didnt see that, fell asleep again and woke up with 100m to go. Saw Sagan won and straight to bed. Damn southern hemisphere and beer.

5km remaining from 195km
16:40:40 CEST
Froome comes through to the front and grinds away from Porte and Quintana. The two Sky riders seem to be on another planet to the rest of the race, not unlike Heras and Armstrong in the Pyrenees in 2002.

And that pretty much says it all... (Flame on!)
