Great shot of PGs new bike, Willier. Is that a Flite?

Apropos colors, here's the Vacansoleil kit for tomorrow:

How quickly will this be ascended? Are those times on the pavement for the 1700 meter long span, and if so, during what event(s)? Wikipedia lists the climb as being longer, with a lower average gradient, so perhaps including some additional portion of the road at a lesser gradient.

You can argue that Menchov, Valverde or Gesink might do well at the tour but all three really ought to be focusing on winning the Giro, Vuelta or one week stage races. Those are doable for them.

All three of those teams would be able to build up and field an excellent lead out for Cav; especially rabo, would love to see Cav getting his lead out from Renshaw again.

Nah, all those teams are too GC focused. Movistar would be a horrible choice for him -- no way they are going to give any sort of support to an Anglophone sprinter when their boy Valverde is locked and loaded for the stage wins and/or GC. Katusha? Cav is not a Friere type sprinter. While Cav can pick his way around a sprint and find good wheels with the best of them, he clearly prefers a dedicated leadout train.

I'd say a team like OPQRSLMNOP or ..... Vacansoleil. Vacansoleil has limited GC ability (short stage races), nice stage hunting ability and a couple sprinters (Van Hummel and Feillu) that don't win much. Can you imagine Feillu doing the 500m to 200m leadout? He'd be wildly flailing, clearing out a huge hole in the middle of the road that Cav could soft pedal through for the V.
:podium:
It would certainly take the $$ that Vacansoleil probably doesn't have though....

I have read somewhere today that Spesh have bought out Cav for OPQ.

The weather forecast for Bellagio tomorrow is on the wet side, 2010-ish.

@HammerTime2: This is the shorter way to the top - a shortcut to be precise

Contador said, 36-28 or even 30 in the back could be used...

While the TdF2013 route has not been revealed yet, based on the trends it won't be repeating the multi-ITT format that we saw in 2012. That was Wiggin's advantage and the rest of the days were just managing potential losses.

Did you know that if you remove the time gaps from the prologue and ITT stages of the 2012 Tour, Wiggins still wins? Turns out he managed those potential losses pretty well

With better opposition and a different route I don't expect Wiggins to repeat next year either, but his win shoudn't be written off as just good TTing.

I really hope that you are joking. This is much, much better than Cav's WC kit.

How so?

Looks like Cav was taking things back to the good old days of WC Jersey only à la Hinault & Lemond etc

Mind you, what could one expect from Gilbert after his Superchav wedding getup?

That shot indeed seems to mirror PG's off the bike style. The jersey looks the same as Cav's except for the three letters.
White shorts are optional for MSR and TdF*. Black shorts for spring classics and today's race, unless the weather turns around and becomes TV friendly.

*and then only if you're the world champion. Listen up FdJ and Argos.

Also what the hell is with the ec90 "sprint" wheels? And the world champion paint job seems very reminiscent of the cervelo paint jobs.
