Crazy idea to change my Giant TRC Advanced 2006 (pictures) to a Aluminium Canyon Ultimate Al?
I can't help it but since I saw Ph. Gilbert riding his alu Canyon this season I keep thinking about it...
I race a few times a year but most rides are trainingrides between 60 and 120 km.
Should there be a huge difference in riding?

I wouldn't make that change. Your Giant is a particularly nice example of the breed. Unless you are unhappy with the flexibility of the front of the bike and and the fork IMO the move would be a downgrade. If you can't afford something " better" then that Canyon then wait till you can. Canyon Ultimate CF perhaps?

My Giant was a topframe in 2006. Should this new Canyon CF be stiffer overall? So an upgrade?
Or perhaps I buy some 50mm high carbon rims with the money.
