And from the sounds of things there were other teams that were caught with suspect material, however there was "insufficient evidence" to chase them.

Who was it on here that said that as soon as Armstrong leaves dirt might start appearing about Astana....?

I'm thinking though there will still be a big, fat zero amount of findings/suspensions to come from this.

just read the news online, this is just publicity. The only person I know that is clean, is god. Even me is guilty of taking drugs (preservatives in junk food, artificial this and that on drinks). I say, make it legal and see who's got the goods. I wanna see 4 legged and double lung cyclist

Merry Christmas to you all

Its not Astana's problem .... its Shacks!

They reportedly have 7 out of 8 DNA samples, with Levi being out of the race? Let me see.....

21 CONTADOR Alberto Currently Astana
22 ARMSTRONG Lance Currently Shack
23 KLÖDEN Andréas Currently Shack
24 LEIPHEIMER Levi Currently Shack
25 MURAVYEV Dmitriy Currently Shack
26 PAULINHO Sergio Currently Shack
27 POPOVYCH Yaroslav Currently Shack
28 RAST Gregory Currently Shack
29 ZUBELDIA Haimar Currently Shack

I don't care if it looks bad, but I hope everyone involved gets popped, especially if Contador is included in that list.

How stupid would it be if ASO didn't invite Astana in 2010 because of this? Common sense would say that this is a Contador and Radioshack problem....but common sense is immiscible w/ current doping regulation. :?

...can I just point out that "the Shack" has also recently announced that they will no longer be using 3rd party doping controls within the team, and will no longer be publishing blood data?

a bit premature to boil them in oil as the investigation is still ongoing. No doping substance was found from what I read at Velonews. The paraphernalia found is a violation but has yet to be linked with any individual and was found in unsecured trash. If DNA is found they may have a case but we are along way from knowing this. Frankly I find it hard to believe that any pro cyclist would be so stupid to put their junk in the trash. Even those that "know" Lance dopes give him more credit then that :smartass:

Question, are French labs required by law to leak investagations to the press? :noidea:

Anyway, after the investagation is complete I will be glad to boil in oil any offenders found guilty

till then, Keep On Cycling

I think the biggest difference here is this is not a "French Lab" this is the French national police's public health division. This recent statement was a result of the prelim investigation launched quite some time ago. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_ ... trong.html

From my understanding this also isn't a 'leak' but a story based on an actual quote (among other things) from the Deputy Prosecutor of Paris. In that statement he said that having unauthorized IV's are prohibited by French law and WADA code. Also numerous polypeptides and anti hypertensive drugs were found with the IV kits. Polypeptides=hormones=EPO, HgH etc. In result of this some people from Astana have been subpoenaed.

To me this sounds like it has a little more teeth than the usual doping rumors.

Without DNA, finger prints or something to link specific cyclists it means nothing as the stuff could have been planted in the bins.

Yes, not defending anyones doping practices, it would seem that should anyone want to cast a cloud over a person or team all you have to do is leave a bunch of IV drips and empty blood bags in the hotel of their choice.

Well they have 7 different DNA samples from the bags. All they need is the UCI to collaborate and cough up the official samples and job done. But we all know that won't happen while the UCI is led by the current bunch!!!
