Just ordered one of these... http://brandt-sorenson.com/collections/ ... vis-yellow

didn't realize they were all custom made so will have to wait a few weeks to get it.

+1 for a Scotty review. Some nice looking attire there, sir. Very dapper indeed.

My 2nd pair of Sportful Total Comfort Bibs. Best I've ever worn.

@ nismosr: Can't really compare to Assos. The last time I used a pair of assos bibs was about 9-10 years ago. Never loved them. I've been using desoto 400 mile bibs, demarchi contour evo, garneau mondo evo and craft elite bibs. My favorites were the desoto & demarchi, until these. I also had a pair of the castelli free bibs, but the pad started falling apart.

The demarchi & desoto bibs were used on rides over 100 miles (and I do a lot of those, especially in the summer). They were very comfortable, but the sportful bibs take it to another level. I've done 2 100+ mile rides in them and at least 10 more in the 60-85 mile range and I haven't had to make an adjustment, shift my position because of discomfort or anything of the sort. Never experienced anything like it in 17 years of riding.

@mdeth1313,
How do the Sportful bibs hold up? I've been using the Desoto, as well, and their durability is one of the things I find most appealing. Also, could you compare the thickness of the Total Comfort to the Desoto? I'm considering grabbing a pair, but I'm wondering if the pad might be too thick. It seems they make another chamois (TC Pro) that is a bit thinner. Thanks!

Where are you guys getting your Sportful total comfort bibs from?

Looking for an online store with decent stock levels.

Cheers

@boysa:

I really feel as if the pad is about the same thickness or a bit less. I haven't compared side by side, but using 1 pair right after the other it's a different feel. I have the newer desoto bibs w/ the ceramic coating and the sportful also have it, but I can't give you long-term data.

I can tell you the sportful bibsdo not feel as compressive, but they do feel more like a 2nd skin.

Thanks! If the pad is the same, or even thinnner, I'm definitely going to give them a shot. Great information.

FWIW, I think you were the one who turned me on to the Desoto!

Given the outrageous pricing and the Brandt-Sorenson name I find the stuff impossible to buy. By name I mean the fact that the owner was caught doping for granfondos in the US.

But people still ride Cipollini and Virenque is still the poster boy for Festina, so I guess nobody would care :-)

Edit: Sorry, it wasn't granfondos but masters nationals http://velonews.competitor.com/2011/10/ ... ing_195784
