Good to see that you're supporting local business.

How wide are they? How comfortable?
Asking as I'm thinking of getting a pair and currently ride Shimano S Phyre 45E's
I really like lace ups.
Missed this sorry.

First ride yesterday with them and after 75km with 0 pain I can tell you I will be selling a few pairs of other shoes to get a spare pair or two of these for the cupboard, They really are that comfortable. IMO they're a Sub6 with a slightly wider mid foot and a slightly less aggressive heal cup. I may keep my Sub6 for the TT bike because I like the snug hold on the short hard efforts (they don't work for me on longer rides) but first impressions are that the VKs are just so much more comfortable, will have to wait and see . I'll put flat laces in them simply because I prefer the look of them but other than that they're perfect. Image

Those are good looking overshoes - do you fine them effective in heavy rain?

I never ride under heavy rain but Alé Klimatik is what you are looking for:

I am using some 2018 unbranded ALE overshoes, that are designed for heavy rains and such...used them in the worst of conditions, even on heavy snow and they were exceptional...the only problem is that after a while, water get's in from down under (from the shoe cleat area, as in every shoe cover) but not from anywhere else, which is good :) klimatik is supposed to be the same, but suited for more cold weather I think, those that I have aren't so warm... :noidea:

Just looked at these ALE overshoes and I am not sure about the sizing. ALE states that they run small.

Which size of the ALE overshoes do you use for which shoe size?

In a moment of stupidity, I took my old mountain bike out on some trails last week. A buddy said "oh, let's do this easy single-track.... it'll be fun". As I flew head-over-heels across the front bars and downward into the mud/dirt/stumps/rocks, I realized I'm mostly at home on the open road. My 1-year old Lazer Blade helmet didn't crack, but the EPS foam seems distorted, crompressed and wonky.

I'm not interested in taking chances with my brain. The jury is "out" on looks and heat dissipation, but this arrived today (Smith Overtake with Koroyd) :

Edge 1030. So far so good. Travel a lot and liked the new heat map rooting. Battery life is also much improved.

Kind of an impulse purchase while visiting the bike shop today. Should be a good 100g savings over my stock aluminum bars.
