Getting used to it. Mine was in German when I logged into it which caused a slight problem!

We will revisit 12 months from now. Everyone will like the forum and will oppose any changes.
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

Actually the remark about performance is correct. The new site seems to be a bit slower (two different machines, one corporate connection and one 6 mg home adsl line). Wonder why...

Edit: tried using both Firefox and Chrome. No real performance improvement. :?
Road bike: Cervelo R3, Campagnolo Chorus/Record mix...
Supercommuter: Jamis Renegade...
Oldie but goodie: De Rosa Professional Slx, Campagnolo C-Record...
And you can call me Macktastik Honey Pete Kicks, thank you.

I just went thru the SEARCH FUNCTION and the "new" site is a vast improvement compared to the old one.

They only show the places where the keywords have been highlited. So more directly RIGHT ON SPOT on the subject.

Ex.: I was searching for Ambrosio Nemensis comments on the site,....WOW !!! No time to waste to find THE page or whatever...

Excellent job on that one guys. Great tool for the "searchers"...

Louis :)

How do I make is so that I don't have to click "mark forums read" after browsing the forum? This used to happen invisibly and I hope that it still can because it's annoying to look at a page and not have the new threads automatically highlighted.

Thanks to the mods and host! WW is an invaluable resource.

This could all almost be too much for all those already hating the changes to CN - we could have some breakdowns on our hands here...

Does seem to run a tad slower, but nothing to get my knickers in too much of a twist over.

My issue is an indexing or subscription function - that's all I wanted in order to keep track of interesting threads without posting in them! Yet to get it. (and no, email notifications are not what I want).

Overall a nice enough change, although have to say I did find beauty in the simplicity of the last layout. Sometimes less can be more.

At the old forum every click opened a new window. Now the links opens in the same window so I cannot keep on reading the subject.

Anyone knows how the change this?

I do like the new look, but it is more messy when reading the posts. It is harder to seperate the different post from one another because all the signatures and the lack of more visibles seperationlines - if you get whet I meen...

Mr. Giant. You couldn't have said it better. That is exactly my two gripes about the new design.

Yep!

And why is it it not posible to edit your post. This is a very important feature when you, like me, is a little too fast when posting your replies and first afterwards sees all the spelling errors

And why does it take so long time to submit a reply?

I respect the work from the moderators but I prefer the older lay-out also.
To much blue, can't see the difference between signatures, post,..
Good luck Sheldon Brown and may Igor fly with you.

The old one wasn't supported anymore by its developers and lacked features requested by users since years.

Regarding the layout - it's the default one, I'm not really a fan of it either.
If you want a layout which looks very similar to the previous one, vote for subsilver2 in the poll.

Performance-wise: yes, searches and especially submitting a new post is very slow.
I'm looking into it and it seems as if was able to find the source for the problem.
If it works out the forum should be back at normal speed tomorrow.
