Weight Weenies

Hello,
Any recommendations for a lightweight rain jacket for winter/summer use that will fit in a jersey pocket. Preferably clear but definitely not black.

I have a gore bike wear one but it wont fit in my pockets.

I use a Garneau Wind Chill...great jacket, packs into it's own pocket and fits well in a jersey. Not 100% waterproof but does last about an hour in a decent rain storm before soaking through. Even when wet it keeps me quite warm if you get the heartrate up to 150-160ish.

Looks like it's being discontinued and I couldn't find the replacement on the Garneau site

Rapha Stowaway. Really light and rolls up nice and small.

I have had great luck with Showers Pass. Maybe not the lightest weight, but their jackets are exceptionally breathable and will keep you dry even in a downpour.

I had a Giordana Monsoon - but that didn't breathe as well as I would have liked.
I changed to Showers Pass ProTech which has performed much better. It breathes better and keeps a lot of the water out.
Packs up small enough to get into a rear pocket, clear enough for the race number pinned to your jersey to be seen and is about $100.

My LBS had a Mavic Helium Jacket, so I bought it.
Very light at 76 Grams couldn’t be much heavier than thebugmans bin bag suggestion.
It’s also very thin and the zip doesn’t seem to strong (but time will tell).
It rolls up to about the size of 2 Mars Bars.
Ill keep you all posted on how it performs in the rain.

FYI - Excel Sports has a sale on the Adidas rain jacket. I would have gotten one, but they didn't have the black in my size.

I have a Showers Pass Double Century, and it's pretty amazing. It is waterproof and vents extremely well to allow air flow. Great product.

Regardless of the type, make sure you try it on before. My tip is to get the smallest one possible so it does not blow in the wind. There is no reason to have a loose jacket, it should be tight but comfortable on the body if possible.
