Haha, made me laugh.
Working in the shop I never heard it, but my wife has had clitoris 'roughing-up' while on the bike for long rides.
In the end she solved it herself, switching to Specialized's high-end women's BG saddles, and now recommends them left and right to every female cyclist she knows.

Needless to say, a happy clitoris makes for a happy woman and a happy husband :D

Thank you Specialized

I'm enjoying the elitism within boutique bike shops

LBS: "We only build high end custom bikes with high end components, Athena 11 is rubbish and entry level"
Me: Does not comment on all the custom bikes equipped with Miche, Centaur, and Veloce built for MDs waiting to be collected..

LBS: "We are a high end shop and only sell high end wheels, not cheap Shimano RS-80 wheels"
Me: Does not comment on the Tiagra builds, Aksiums, random mountain bikes on display...

"You can go faster on a 29", it's just better"

And the worst part is that they actually expect you to believe them.

Me: Do you have Shimano Special Grease SP41?
Store: No. Why?
Me: To reduce internal cable friction.
Store: What's that?
Me: Never mind.

Indeed, ductape does! WD40 is a cleaning agent. it sucks for bike maintenance. In fact, it sucks for almost everything.

You never had Scalextric as a kid then? Tried all the lubes and I assure you WD40 was the dogs, just a drop before each use!

Me: Have you got a nine speed chain, I'm converting the daughters bike
LBS: To nine speed?
Me: Kinda, it's only a 7 speed freehub so I'm using 8 of the 9 speeds off a SRAM cassette with a 9 speed shifter
LBS: If it's 8 speed you need an 8 speed chain
Me: No, its a nine speed cassette with one gear missing, so it has the same spacing as any other 9 speed cassette, I need a 9 speed chain
LBS: If it's 8 speed you need an 8 speed chain
Me: I assure you I need a nine, however it will be my fault if it's wrong, so can I take that one (points)......
LBS: If it's 8 speed you need an 8 speed chain (damn this records stuck)
Me: I'll go down the road.....yes this donut lost a sale when the next LBS was only 400 yards away!

Yes the bike works great....on a 9 speed chain, just wished I hadn't told him what I was doing and said yes to the 9 speed question!

Said Daughter works in Bikehut so I now expect suitable abuse!

That's exactly what you need to remember when you know what you are doing and buying something at the LBS.
I never took drugs to improve my performance at any time. I will be willing to stick my finger into a polygraph test if anyone with big media pull wants to take issue. If you buy a signed poster now it will not be tarnished later. --Graeme Obree

You're right of course, but its my favoured LBS (I'm spoilt, I have 3 good local ones) and I expected better, next time I went back and talked to one of the regular members of staff he told me the guy only lasted a week......now I have my favoured member of staff's mobile (cell) number so can check he's in before I pop in!

While shopping for a first road bike a few years ago, I asked if the bike in question could be ordered with a compact crank. He carefully explained to me that this bike was a compact because a compact crank has 2 chain rings and a standard crank has 3. The same guy was adamant that I would need a 56 or 58cm frame. I'm 5'6", currently riding a 51.
