Hi all,

I am new here, but I am a very interesting question.

This guy I know registered a patent in Portugal regarding the small piece (seat rails?) that holds the seat of the bike to the seatpost. He has created this piecein carbon fiber. He then can use a seat of his creation, also, and reduce the weight of both parts to 60 grams.

My questions are:
- Aren´t there bikes enterily made in carbon fiber?
- aren´t there seats, with seat rails, lighter than this?
- and finally, is this important in performance?

He says that this reduction of weight will diminish the pendular effect of the seat when standing.

Basically he wants me to invest.

Cheers,
Xavi

Honestly now, please do not give that man any of your money. Carbon rails and carbon clamps already exist.
If you would really like to make a good investment I know of some beach houses up in the Himalayas.
PM me your credit card details for more info.
