I worked, which I do pretty much 7 days a week. I finished some chainrings designs for manufacturing. I chose the wrong job I guess coz my boss won't let me have time off (that said, I'm my own boss)...

I did 0km riding (no time, bad weather). Mind you, in the Netherlands we don't have labor day in Sept.

Well perhaps happier had you eloped on your bikes. (I hope she rides???)

I have been married 20 years - today my wife an I did about 100 km of hammering with the Donut Ride. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Donut_Ride) to answer the question in the original post.

Did the Civil War Century in Thurmont, MD. 105 miles, 7500 feet of climbing and a 17.4 mph average. Not too bad considering I had a back fusion ( L5-S1) middle of May and only back on the road for a month.
All in all a good day :)

You have too much fun.
We had a small group of the Fashion Show boys ride from Santa Monica out to Decker Canyon in Malibu & back down Encinal. Considering the weather lately it was about perfect, Overcast & 70's with a break in the clouds as we did our Climb up Decker. Heading back over Mulholland it started to heat up, yuk.

slow spinner with some pacey bits for 50km an sat followed by a cat2/3 race (96km) Sunday. I must remember that I NEVER win when I try to break away / hold off fast guys near the finish. Stick to the plan , grasshopper!!!

[oh yes, I sucked.....how depressing!]
Updated: Racing again! Thought this was unlikely! Eventually, I may even have a decent race!
Edit: 2015: darn near won the best South Island series (got second in age
-group)..woo hoo Racy Theremery is back!!

Problem is I should be going easy so I can do some cross.

Nothing.
I have averaged 1200+ miles for the last 5 months and can feel my body suddenly needs a break.
I am taking 7-10 days away from the bikes.

Those are some good miles. 7-10 off would kill me. How do you get back on the bike?

I did the Spud Riley 100 mile sportive.
Good ride in typical conditions for the area; rain, low cloud and loads a gravel.

Came 5th in a non race, race apparently

I dont think that I will lose any fitness. Hopefully regain some interest and motivation though.

The problem really is I feel I need a new bike

I plan on a few very easy rides to get back in to the swing of things.
I rode 21 days in a row with some very difficult weekly club rides with some cat 1 and 2 guys.
I have had trouble sleeping for the last 2 weeks. I need to get some things worked out before I get sick or really run down.
