It's been a long time, but I fancy having a go at a race or two this summer. Can anyone suggest any MTB races in the south of the UK that would be worth looking at? Thanks.

Hi. Heres a quick guide of several of the xc races in the South.

www.gorrick.com Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire based race series, general turnout approx 500 riders. Excellent atmosphere, more relaxed than other races.
www.southernxc.net Southern based English series. Smaller turnout with a more serious feel. Great fun though. Next round is 1st June at Earlstoke.
http://www.dragonxc.co.uk/ Not really southern England but instead Wales. Most venues are easy to get too, courses are superb! Next round in on the 31st May at Margam Park.

I'd say the above pretty much covers it, but it is work looking at the BC website or Singletrack to check for random events that might not be part of a series. For example, I'm doing this race in a couple weeks' time.
