I have worn the premium carbon before. The sole is stiff and the upper is surprisingly roomy -- the toe box seems more North American (Shimano/ Pearl) and Euro. As far as these go, I have held them but never in my size. They are light and the uppers are supposed to be very stretch resistant.

They look a bit similar to Poggios. Less padding and thinner sole perhaps.

Dang, I didn't know they were making shoes. Those look pretty spiffy; I think I'll have to check them out since I'm in the market for new shoes.

AFAIK, Vittoria hasn't produced their own shoes, perhaps ever.

These look just like DMTs. Worth it.... :?

Looks like they make them. Maybe they make DMT uppers?

Yup, can confirm they are two completely different companies, with a similar name  . The shoe maker is based in Biella, the tire maker in Bergamo.

Vittoria (the shoe guys) were, along with Corvaro, the kings of cycling shoes in the time before clipless. All leather, really nice. Fondly remember mine. Gaerne, DMT and Sidi and all the other brands are more recent in terms of becoming major brands (and I am sure there is quite a bit of cross-fertilisation, with people leaving one company to start up the other, etc).

Vittoria have always had a very good reputation for quality here. Haven't owned a pair for over 15 years, more of a Sidi guy now. But you will not be disappointed with a set of Vittorias, IMHO.

I never heard of Vittoria the shoe guys. But back in the day, Detto Pietro was the big cycling road shoe brand in the U.S. My first 2 pairs of road shoes (late '70's/early '80s) were Detto Pietros.

Hammertime, you are correct in that I also forgot about Detto Pietro, another venerable producer. Ooops. I am getting old.

As for Vittoria, I checked and was surprised to find out it is a company set up in the 70s.

A few of their sponsored riders from the past included Argentin, Roche, Kelly and Fondriest...

If we're on ancient shoes, Duegi were the hot item when I were a lad.
