can anyone explain why the computer only works out of the handlebar mount, i have had to cover the 2 small contacts on the mount and now it seems to work. that cannot be right?

just a small update it works when i ride with no hands, not that one would advocate such practice, but weird anyway!

does no one have any ideas?
