An email just came in from the Massbike list.

"Sheldon's wife Harriet sent out mail this morning saying that Sheldon Brown died of a massive heart attack last night."

I expect that every one of us has relied on him over the years to find out anything about bikes.

A sad day. :(

I will be the first to add my condolences. He is not someone I had met as yet in the industry, but his reputation preceeds him. Rest in peace.

Very sad.

I exchanged a few emails with Sheldon about a year ago about his bizarre but very serious illness. I wonder if that is what ultimately led to his demise.

Love to use his gear calculator when messing with cassettes.

RIP

The industry has lost a legend.

This forum would be a better place if you had to know what you were talking about prior to posting. And if you took yourself less seriously.

One of the nicest, crabbiest, coolest, hottest guys ever. Master of the obscure, old and new and there's nothing we'll invent in the next 20 years that that guys hasn't thought of...
