Wait, VDB dopes, does drugs, gets busted for it all and suddenly is suffering from depression? Self induced, perhaps? My original thread was really focused on the media, perhaps poorly written, and their consistent support for his comebacks. If VDB is suffering from true clinical depression then perhaps the pressure cooker of pro cycling is not the place for him to be right now. It is not exactly a cathartic environment right now. But, your point is taken, I will lay off VDB personally and hope he finds his way out of the darkness. But the media and the coaches who hire him are still fair game.

He is (or was) a class act on the bike and a victim of his own personality.
It's not good to joke about people who suffer from mental problems.
If teams sign him, that's their choice and you should take a shot at them, not at the rider.

Mental health aside, how does doping and lying about it make him a "class act on the bike"?
