He's way north of the equator, in the bay area, of Northern California.

Only 2-3C here in England, which is a bit disappointing as it got up to 12C last Tuesday. Still nice and sunny though.

routier, are those the real colors, or did you do some kind of funky filter or post-processing thing?

Between -1 and -10 today :-) Out riding with aerozy and a promising junior from our club!

~140 km with the crossbike on studded tires.. A very nice day in the sun.

Enjoying fancy sandwiches and a hot tomato soup with bacon..!

Damn, now I want some tomato soup. And a grilled cheese sandwich of San Francisco Sourdough with Havarti.... Hmmm...

Anyway. Short day out, but missed out on 2k'+ ft of climbing because I had to nurse myself back home the 'easy way' after three flats with the help of a friend who happened to be riding in the area further back. Ran out of tubes after the first two flats, discovered that the first flat also resulted in my front tire being shreded considerably, so when I did eventually make it over to a shop on the other side of the mountains and inflated to the full 110psi, the tire burst open two miles later. A Lezyne™ boot, new tube, and an urban ride for 20 miles to get home. Wonderful. In the end, something like 72mi, 5300+' ascent. First world problems.

Pictures!

A coyote said hello, then waited patiently for me to snap a photo and roll away to a safe distance before he crossed the road.

Now I will go make myself a nice sandwich and some spiced tomato soup.

The colours are slightly exaggerated by a filter as I took the shot on my phone and it looked very dull as standard. I really need to buy a camera!

up here in northern california, they like to cross the road before you pass them - doesn't matter if you're descending at 80 km/h. The deer up here do the same thing (must be the water or something). :noidea: :beerchug:

Hey Prend...

Where is that? I don't know that road and those antennas...

@Matti

They're located in an area, I believe, called "Hidden Valley" in Ventura County, off of Mulholland. From PCH this is after the first climb up Mulholland, but before it joins Decker. The antennas a pretty far off the road, you can see them at a distance, but there is a private paved road leading up to the main compound.

Once you figure out how to get past the fences, the 1km road is actually pretty decent condition with a brief descent and a ~10% climb up to the main compound of buildings and antenna. There are a lot of security cameras, but otherwise it's all clear. I would imagine security is considerably higher when they're in use.
