Bloody traffic...

101-mile ride of the damned this weekend.

These are the pictures from the first half of the ride, when the weather was acceptable, after that it was all freezing rain and fog. I will write this up on the blog soon, but until then...

50 odd miles in freezing rain and fog - doesn't sound like ideal riding conditions.

As for the first 50 odd miles in "acceptable" conditions, all I can say is you are very generous in what you consider acceptable.

Note to self: do not go the the Catskills to ride centuries in January.

correct, the view of the east bay area in the first photo and the observatory in the second photo are the giveaways

I included the link to the real-time weather conditions at the observatory atop Mt. Hamilton in my post above.

Here is the temperature over the last day (there are plenty of other items also displayed in the linked page).

Not too shabby for 4209 (or is that 4213?) ft. elevation in January (although even in March, it can at times be a lot colder - trust me, my fingers know).
