On the road today...

Thanks! I don't think it compares to the landscape in Switzerland, but I think we have some of the best riding in the US, in fact I've been posting a lot of routes on the blog in an effort to encourage people to come up and ride. The Catskill Mountains aren't very high, but unlike more civilized parts of the US, the roads are laid out without any regard for grade. 22% climbs are quite common out here.
If anyone is visiting New York City and wants to come out for a ride (we're only 1.5 hours north of the city) let me know, I'm happy to serve as a tour guide!
@ Routier: the saddle bag is from an Italian manufacturer-"SCICON" .
Well this looks fun; I hope you all don't mind if I catch up a bit...
Atop Legacy Trail in Longview, WA

A group of us early in the summer of 2012 at the Johnston Ridge Lookout, Mount St. Helens in Washington.

Worth the 112km and 2700m of climbing for a view like this!

Clear Water Reservoir on the way back down that same ride.

Just adjacent to Pacific Coast Highway in California while visiting my sister this October.

On PCH

Home in WA

A pissy drizzle day with the wife - Highway 4 between Longview and Cathlamet, WA

The view from the parking lot at the Astoria Column in Astoria, OR (yes, where they filmed The Goonies)

And a surprisingly nice (but cold) day a couple weeks ago! Toledo, WA

A perfect morning to roll into work. Looking north-east over the swan river in Perth.

After a week of stress at work I was so relieved to be out there today. Only two hours and at the freezing point but I came back home feeling like a different person.
A landmark on many of my rides, near Haren (Noord Brabant) in The Netherlands.

A look into the lovely town of Ravenstein, even prettier inside the gate but I didn't feel like riding the cobbles.

Some random guy in cycling clothes who was standing somewhere along the route. I have no idea who he is

Between Grave and Ravenstein.

Almost home, near the town of Berghem. I thought I miscalculated and would ride in the dark without lights, but then I remembered to take off my sunglasses.
