Until I got to the top and had to descend back down!
Freezing!
Agreed, both for the fun part and the cold part. I brought another layer and winter gloves just for the descents. At the top the temp. was +6 C in the sun, maybe 2 in the shade. That probably concludes mountain riding for the season.

Bumped into Emma Pooley while out on a quick 1h ride before sunset at 4pm. She told me she had been out since 6am including the Pragelpass and then Ibergeregg. Pragel was shut, but she decided to go anyway and ended up walking over the top to avoid ice. Then said that she needed to get home quickly to go for a run before sun went down...I just hope her rivals are training hard.

Winter is just around the corner, the country lanes are filthy and don't really dry out now. Slippery leaves everywhere too

I don't! Emm's forever, who can forget her attacks after the final box hill ascent in the Olympic ladies road race. And much else.

Lunch ride up Salève today, just to get out of the stratus cloud. We live under that milky lid:
view south toward Annecy
and east, Mt-Blanc range
and back down
