Yup... toasty in Eastern Washington, Walla Walla wine country over the weekend. Although riding from winery to winery was totally relaxing...

My gay Etape blog for EcoCyclo, managed a 52nd place. Although it comes across a bit preachy, I definitely believe in not f-ing up the environment!

You get the regularly ride some beautiful countryside Routier. At the moment it is dark just past 5pm, but even then it is mostly suburban roads...

Some pictures make me want to ride at the location and conditions of the picture. makoy's immediately above, while a very good picture, and inspiring for its tough man qualities, most definitely does not.

Went for a ride in the Wairarapa yesterday which is about an hour's drive from where I live. This is wine country and the area around Martinborough where I set off from is most renowned for it's superb pinot noir. It's also perfect cycling country, with numerous sealed country roads and a lack of traffic!!

Went for the toughest sub-century ride I could design in our area. At 9000 feet of climbing in 85 miles, we’re getting into D2R2 territory. Mostly gravel. More to come on the blog.

All the roads are pink/red up in Delaware county, presumably because of the iron content. We stopped to beg for some water from some locals, and it tasted like rust.
