Agreed. Great shot!

Pikes Peak was hard! The average gradient doesn't tell the true story about the climb, as there is quite a bit of moderate rise over the first half of the climb. Second half felt steep, but it was only after HT2 asked what the actual gradients were and I found a profile diagram it was confirmed. Last 3 km consists of 8.8%. 10.6% and finally 8.6%; all around 4,000m!

After riding Pikes Peak in Colorado it was a 1,200km drive through the evening and next morning to Mt Graham Arizona.

I didn't know much about this climb other than it came recommended... Of the little info I found I'd read to park in the Prison car park at the start of the climb. Do not do this - park on the opposite side of the road and up from the prison. The guard that came and checked on me as I rolled back to the van was reasonable, but as people are known to throw contraband over the fences they don't like unknown cars in the car park...

Road was initially a straight run through low arid desert.

Youtube made some changes and I was not happy with them, so I uploaded the movie to good old Vimeo.
