The editor of Norwegian magazine Landevei is doing the Rapha Festive 500. As a twist he's starting each leg at midnight this year. Use Google Translate for the text or just enjoy the pictures:

Also doing Festive 500 in Thailand. Not as miserable weather as you guys but crosswind is getting crazy around here! Enjoy the photos.

knocked out ~160 km today with a decent amount of climbing up and down into Santa Cruz County. It was 4*C when I left my house in inland south bay area, CA, but warmed up to 19C.
:beerchug:

obligatory redwoods (albeit very young compared to the sequoia giants further east)

Santa Cruz County, CA. The county line actually runs almost right along the mountains near here.

Eureka Canyon, Corralitos, California. Safer but more painful going up than down. Still one of my favorite climbs in the area.

Image

This is Monterey Bay, not SF. Santa Cruz is actually closer to Monterey than SF, but you don't notice it until you turn around.

Wow it's so cool having this thread! It's like sometimes you just want to see something like this, wish that it existed and here it is! :D

Here are a few from my festive 500:

Christmas day ride: so, so quiet!
Image
Sunday ride beginning with the guys then wrong turn to solo

Image

Just out today - light dezzle with supposed 40kph wind, but swear must have been closer to 60kph with the sustained gusts once in the moors!

That last shot is epic!

I've posted the daily "official" entries of Landevei Editor Henrik Alpers' attempt to win the Grand Prize at the Rapha Festive 500. Here's his blog entry, in English, with photos:
