I'm almost ready to start my new wheelbuild. I'm wondering who the top say 3 wheelbuilders in the USA are. I need someone with experience and a great reputation and also someone who is easy to get a hold of. My biggest pet peeve is someone who doesn't return phone calls or emails

I had Dave Thomas -Speed Dream Wheels http://www.speeddream.com/ build a mtb wheelset. He will stand behind his work 100%.
Just search through some threads here and you will see that one of the most popular wheel builders in the states would be Ligero Wheel works at http://www.ligerowheels.com/
Also I have most recently used Lyle at http://www.spinlitecycling.com/road_hubs.htm

May be a tough time to get a hold of people around the holidays.

EDIT: Speed Dream replaced my rear rim and spokes at no charge because the wheel was not stiff enough. It was very nice doing business with him.

I have used ligero and can tell you I am 1000% satisfied. When I called in we had a quick chat about what type of wheelset I wanted and was given reccomendations based on what I will use the wheel for and type of rider I am. Took a little longer to get since i wasn't getting a 'off the shelf prebuilt wheel' but the little extra weight we 100% worth it.

I send all of my customers to ergott because I think he is one of the best for service, quality and knowledge. And from my own experiences on his wheels, I would not go anywhere else.
