it just occurred to me that I haven't seen the old Campag vs Shibongo debate around for a while now... has it gone away? Did Campag win... :frightened: hehehe? or was it a case of SRAM Red coming in from far left field and poking everyone's eyes out...

How shameful to start that up again.

If your from a country were its easy to get campy you get shamanono, if your live in the U.S. were shamanono rule you must ride campy. WW above all must be different. More important then weight is the "unavailable factor". If we are forced to ride a part that is easy to get and cheap we are duty bound to "tune" the part so that it will not be confused with the stock or cheap parts.

So yes, to answer your question this debate is over and nobody won................................(Campy :D rules)

I could report what one my japanese friend often tell me "...shimaNO", but I can say that an arguing between Campy and Shimano (and Sram?!?) is getting nearer and nearer.

Lolololol

All I can say is this.. I grew up riding Shimano, I learned simple mechanics as a child riding shimano, and I eventually started buying Shimano fishing reels due to growing up riding Shimano equipped bikes. My MTB came with Shimano, My R1000 came with Shimano, my brothers racing roadie has all Shimano, if I buy components, they are always Shimano, Shimano components and reels have never let me down, have never broken, and seem to be at least on par with competitors. I wish Shimano made women, coin operated vending machines, self check out lanes at the supermarket, lawnmowers, and whatever else is a piece of junk that I use everyday. If Shimano made an automobile, I would probably drive it too. Since they dont, I drive a Subaru.

I like other stuff as well, but simplicity and availability rules sometimes I suppose. Just like Ferraris are wonderful cars, too. But try to go to an auto shop in an emergency, and try to find parts for it. Plus, that $10,000 tune up breaks the bank.

:frightened:

Also, my neighbors kid rode up to have her rusty, 10+ year old, Pacific ? model, pink, 5 speed, Shimano SIS, top shift, hand me down bike to be looked at and tires aired up. I looked at it, adjusted the brake pads, aired up the tires, sprayed WD40 on the rusty cables, and the damn thing shifted like a charm with no adjustment. I bet I looked funny as all hell test-riding it with my knees spread to clear the handlebars. I told her to ditch the single speed Walmart bike and ride this one.

Lol. I just hope this rivalry doesn't get as bad as an Oklahoma/Texas football match up where a fight ensues, and somebody has their testicles yanked off (true story). :beerchug:

that has to be worth a few grams, right?
