Sorry for the misunderstanding Warblade but it wasn't Mountaineering. To clarify I was a professional rockclimber (sport climbing and bouldering competitions)...

Oh, oh. Right on. That's cool too. I actually just saw a video of some guy "bouldering" a 400ft cliff in 4:25 minutes. Absolutely amazing.

That video often makes the rounds. It clip is of Dan Osman who enjoyed doing such things for the camera. Probably find some footage of some swings and bridge jumps he did if you google his name.

If you are interested (or bored) there is an old interview of mine... http://www.chockstone.org/Interviews/MLama.htm

I took up cycling and triathlons after reoccurring bouts of elbow tendonitis put a stop to the climbing.

Those are some pretty sweet pictures in that interview! Looks to be some pretty amazing climbing in France. I know when I was cycling in France there were some ridiculously beautiful cliffs and peaks in the alps that looked like they'd be fun to scale up, given the correct rock though.

I know a lot of cyclists who are also into climbing/mountaineering and so on. It just goes with the lifestyle and love of the outdoors. I'm very much in this category too. Unless one is being paid to ride a bike life is just too short to do one thing only.....
