A couple of Dutch riders and myself will participate in next week's Herald Sun Tour in the neighbourhood of Melbourne. We will fly up there and don't have the opportunity to bring proper TT equipment with us. Are there weenies willing to share their aero clipons and fast wheels with us for the time trial on saturday the 20th? For as far as I know we all ride shimano 10sp and I'm sure any help will be greatly appreciated by the Dutch national team.

The neighbourhood of Melbourne...hehe (sorry)

I don't personally have any aero gear, but if I was you I'd talk Carnegie Cycling club (http://www.carnegiecycling.com.au/) and Blackburn (www.bbn.org.au) or some of the other local clubs to see if they can put you in touch with some of their members, or in the case of the two I mentioned, if you can put a small add up on their websites - those two are probably the most accommodating clubs when it comes to that.

Malaya - glad to see you got on the Carnegie website, they're probably one of the largest and best equipped racing clubs in metropolitan melbourne.

You might also want to try posting on http://atta.asn.au/bb/index.php - the board isn't used so much over the southern summer, but someone might pop in and help you out. If not, try contacting the Australian time trial association by email through their website http://www.atta.asn.au/ - their contact us page might help.

Other people to contact might be:
http://www.coburgcycling.com.au/
http://www.hawthorncycling.org/home/default.asp (they have a forum if you can't get in touch with someone from the club)
http://www.skcc.com.au/
http://www.coburgcycling.com.au/
http://www.southernvets.com.au/
http://www.melbournetriclub.com/
http://www.cbdcycles.com.au (they're a shop, not a club, but talk to them about putting you in touch with the local Tri clubs, they're possibly the best connected shop in Melbourne when it comes to the Triathlon community - Anthony there is a nice guy)
http://www.aboc.com.au/ - A local coach, not many of his members have TT gear but he's a nice guy and may be able to help you out.
http://www.quickcycle.com.au/ - Another local coach, deals mainly with juniors but again has a few clients with TT gear.

Hope that helps - unfortunately the TT scene arround here isn't that fantastic at the moment.

Thanks Skillgannon,

I've got a lot of response already, so the Dutch team won't have an excuse for the tt at least :D

Better not come last now :D - good luck with the tour, looks like I won't be rooting for some of the local guys any more.

Any WW'ers getting down to the TT on Saturday? I'm planning on passing through at end of my ride, so if you are there and see someone rolling around on a red fixed gear conversion say g'day :D

I will be down there. Malaya is coming to grab some wheels off me tonight. Hopefully the shiny carbon can see the Dutch'ies grab back the yellow!

I will come down on my new machine. I just put all the parts off my Parlee Z4 onto a white Reynolds 853 frame. It weighed 1810grams - exactly double the Z4! I wanted to get something just for training and turn the Z4 into a 'special' bike. Wait and see how light and 'specific' it gets! :D

I'll probably just come to stage 7 - I'd like to go to both, but I've got other things to do, and if I don't get them done I'm rooted. Will see how it goes

Sunday is out for me and I am more interested in the TT anyway. Either day will be good to be outside in the sun watching some solid racing :D

I should be there today with Mitch (1in20), probably not on a bike as we're coming straight from the shop with more wheels for Malaya and co.

If I am on a bike look for a 'dale in special edition Saeco colours, most defining item will be the SI cranks with red spider and gold rings. Come say hi.

Cheers, John.

Go Joost! :D

My wheels got tenth! He rocked that front Lew and Corima disc super hard. I scored a team car seat to follow him around - and nearly died with the speed he hit the bottom of Anderson St hill. It was a reasonably tight corner and had the car tyres squealing at 40kmh, but Jooset totally railed it and gapped us.

Its gonna be tough tomorrow, he is 23 seconds down on Matt Wilson. Attack, attack, attack!

Had a great day, lots of frites with mayo and Stella Artois. Nice :)

Damn 1in20 - sounds really good.

Did anyone who was there notice that Wilson was riding a Zipp disk, as opposed to LW's?

Being in Australia most teams/riders probably packed the bare minimum and left the disc wheels out. With SRAM being neutral support lots of guys were on Zipp wheels, another notable one was Trent Lowe on a front Zipp 808 and rear disc. He wouldn't have had Bontrager TT wheels in Australia.
